UK phone tossing contest, apparently.

Here's an easy video contest for you, but only if you're living in the UK. Grand Prize is £500, but 4 other finalists will get £125.

This is what your video must look like: you have to catch a cell phone from the left, pretend to read a text message and react to it, pretend to respond to the text message you just read, and the toss your phone to the right. Make sure you make this video in an unusual setting

I didn't understand these instructions myself until I saw the demo videos, and understood what it was the contest sponsors are trying to achieve: a phone tossing chain! or a text chain as they would like to call it.

So yeah, there you go. Deadline is Dec 21st, so better work fast! I hear he first 10 people to submit videos get free Heavy.com shirts. Their contest page is here.

Borat's Videotime Contest update

Ok so apparently the contest is not only real, but has been going on for a week!!

It's at http://borat.heavy.com (another heavy.com deal) and the deadline is March 30th at 3pm EST. you can upload your video at the contest site..

You're supposed to act like Borat in a video 3 minutes or under.

No nudity, no swearing, US residents 18+ and I'm not sure what there policy is on getting permission from strangers but I know they've blurred faces in the past for people's videos in case the contestants didn't get permission. Oh yeah, prize is $3,500!

Borat contest? WHAT?

I heeeeeeard there was going to be a Borat video contest. I'll give out more information when I find out more... but I hear the grand prize is going to be anywhere from $3,000 to $4,000!!!!

Future Shorts NYC

This is another friend's project... she's in charge of the NY expansion of this popular European short film label, and after seeing a mediocre short film screening last night, I know that this label is FAR BETTER than any others I've come across.

You should will be able to upload your videos to the special channel on heavy dot com as soon as the damned thing goes live... look for the little box with the wii logo on it. I think the videos have to be under 3 minutes long. 18 and over only, at least if you're the one submitting the video. What else... I have heard rumors online that you have to be wearing your Wii straps in the video. Deadline is Feb 28.

Circus of Awesome unusual talent contest

Got an unusual skill, talent or act? Get it on video and submit it to us by the end of this month. You could be one of ten people picked to be flown to Panama City to perform their talent on stage for a huge audience with a celebrity host. You'll also get to chill out in a luxurious villa over the course of the weekend and attend the bumpin after party (the celeb host will be in attendance of course). My friend won't say who the celeb is (but I heard a rumor it was Lil Jon... may not be true... my friend says its not true).
